The Western Cordillera region runs along the west coast of Canada, running down the Yukon Region all the way down to British Columbia and Alberta, the region is a series of mountains and valleys ranging great heights. The mountain is made up of igneous rock that formed the mountains over 2000 years ago. The valleys and mountains are populated with mixed forests containing a wide variety of vegetation. A high concentration of the forest is located near the lower end of the mountains and snow covers the upper levels of the Cordillera. The economy in the Western Cordillera is mainly based on tourism as the mountains provide beautiful views, mining and agriculture is also a good source of income for the citizens since there is a ton of mountains that provide resources for mining. Agriculture isn't very common as the Cordillera's are lightly populated and farmers fight insects and pest almost on the daily making it hard for them to have steady vegetation flowing. Also forest fires are very common in the forests and thus making it even harder to have a steady income from agriculture. The Western Cordillera has a maritime climate since it is located next the Pacific Ocean. The region has to climates which are very wet during the fall and winter with no extreme cold and snow along the Pacific Coast, Summers are cool and the Winters are short. Winters bring heavy snow to high mountains. In the valleys, winters are usually mild with frequent rain.
