The Hudson Bay - Arctic Lowland region is a small area that is located next to the Canadian Shield right on the Hudson's Bay. The lowlands are flat and are made up of layers upon layers of sedimentary rock, the area is considered to be a wetland. The Lowlands contain a vast amount of swampy forests and Tundra as the the climate is very cold and dry, the soil is mostly Tundra and podzols. The vast amount of plains is mainly made up Muskeg. The economy resources is a wide variety containing lignite, oil, natural gas, peat, moreover the location is very remote and the climate is very harsh causing the Lowlands to have small population since they cannot grow any agriculture. The terrain is mostly ice, snow, rock, and it is full of marshes, especially in the winter. Animals that live in the area include polar bears, char, Arctic hares and Arctic foxes. Permafrost is occurring almost all year round making it hard to build houses making it hard for people to live and work.
