The Innuitian Mountain region that are located in the Arctic territories in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, the region is made up of steep mountains made up of igneous rock and metamorphic rock. The mountains can be as high as 2000 metres high with rugged peaks and sedimentary rock. Unfortunately due to the harsh climate in the region it is too cold for tree's to grow and any type of agriculture to be grown. Some of the vegetation found in the Innuitian Mountains is rare berries, lichens, moss, tough grass, Arctic Willows and small willow shrubs. Furthermore with the extreme cold temperatures causing most of the resources have not be discovered or exploited but it is known that coal, petroleum and natural gas is common. The mountains have long winters receiving tons of snow and very short summers, also a wide range of areas are covered in ice stoping plants from growing in the ground. Permafrost is also a big issue in the mountains as houses and other building cannot be build on the land making it hard to create communities, and the low amount of vegetation causes the animals that depend on them to migrate.
