The Canadian Shield is the biggest landform region in Canada with the shield covering Labrador,most of Quebec north of the St. Lawrence River, much of Ontario, central/northern Manitoba, northern Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. The Canadian Shield is horseshoe shaped region extends over half of Canada. The region is made up of metamorphic and igneous rock, it is a region with rounded hills, and numerous lakes like Great Slave Lake. The region is full of a all kind of minerals such as copper, gold, lead, zinc, and nickel.The Canadian Shield is mostly pine trees, lakes and bogs. Lowlands-dense soil not good for forests, has many bogs instead. In the South-boreal forest, some deciduous trees, like white birch and poplar. The temperatures in the Canadian Shield depend where you're located, In the North the temperature tend to be very cold with temperatures dropping to -25 degrees in the winters and 10 degrees in the summers. In the South the temperatures are cold and snowy with temperatures dropping down to -8 degrees and 22 degrees in the summer, summers tend to be long and hot while winters are short and cold. The economy is mainly based on Mining, as their are tons of minerals for companies to profit from.
